Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce has seen his popularity and fame explode in recent months after he began dating pop sensation Taylor Swift, but it sounds like he still has some time to give back to a community he feels passionate about supporting: veterans.
Travis Kelce is an executive producer on the upcoming film “My Dead Friend Zoe,” which is a dark comedy that follows a U.S. Army veteran who struggles with her family due to the spiritual presence of her dead Army friend, Zoe.
And according to actress Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays the lead role in the film, the reason Kelce chose to take on the project is because he is passionate about helping and supporting our nation’s veterans.
“He wanted to support veterans,” Martin-Green told TMZ Sports this week. “That’s what I heard — he wanted to support veterans and someone pointed him to our film.”
Martin-Green thinks that Kelce’s decision to follow his passions – in this case, helping veterans – will serve him well if he decides to pursue a future in Hollywood.
“It’s all about the ‘why’ and I feel like if anybody has the right ‘why,’ they’ll succeed,” she said.
It’s certainly a big gesture from Kelce.
