Tom Brady is not only the most accomplished player in the history of the NFL, but he’s also famous for the way he has capitalized on his own personal brand and made millions off of his name, image, and likeness throughout his NFL career. So it was rather shocking when he criticized young athletes this week for trying to build their own personal brands.
During a recent appearance on the “DeepCut with VicBlends” podcast, Tom Brady called out young athletes – who he referred to as “kids these days” – for focusing on their own personal brands.
“I think the biggest problem with a lot of [freaking] kids these days, it’s all about them. Their brand, their social media. When it’s about ‘me’ and then not about ‘us,’” Brady said according to Fox News.
Naturally, Brady got absolutely blasted for this take as people pointed out the hypocrisy of the statement. Those critics included longtime NFL offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz, who absolutely blasted Brady for these comments.
Good thing he didn’t start his own clothing/fitness/lifestyle brand and insist on his personal trainer having privileges in the building no one else gets. https://t.co/1ZpA6ZKTfm

“Good thing he didn’t start his own clothing/fitness/lifestyle brand and insist on his personal trainer having privileges in the building no one else gets,” Schwartz said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
It’s certainly not a good look for Brady.
