For over two decades, Tom Brady was the starting quarterback of the New England Patriots where he helped lead the team to six Super Bowl titles, establishing himself as the most accomplished quarterback in NFL history. Now, Drake Maye appears poised to be the team’s next franchise quarterback, and it sounds like he has Brady’s support.
During a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, Tom Brady revealed that he has spent time with Drake Maye and he had a pretty clear message to the young quarterback about how he can be successful in the league.
“I’m very fortunate to be around him, and I like him a lot,” Brady said of Maye in an interview with Yahoo Sports. “I’ve heard great things about him. But his opportunity is going to be really what he makes of it, and how he wants to develop it, and how he wants to attack his profession, like we all do. It’s not where you’re at when you’re 22, it’s who you’re around when you’re 22. Who inspires you to be better? Who develops you?”
Obviously, Maye has some big shoes to fill given Brady’s legacy with the Patriots. But it sounds like Brady thinks highly of the young quarterback.
