The Philadelphia Eagles already made a significant move to add depth at the quarterback position behind Jalen Hurts when they traded for former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, and now it looks like they’re bringing in even more depth at quarterback.
According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles have decided to sign young quarterback Will Grier for a one-year contract.
“Eagles are signing former Cowboys and Patriots QB Will Grier to a one-year deal, per sources. In the past week, the Eagles now have added QBs Kenny Pickett and Greer,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

A former West Virginia Mountaineers star, Grier entered the league as a third-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2019. He started two games for the Panthers in 2019, completing 28 of 52 passes for no touchdowns and four interceptions.
Obviously, Grier is not expected to compete for the team’s starting quarterback spot as Hurts has that role locked down, but there is a chance that he could compete with Pickett for the backup role.
We’ll have to see what the future holds for Grier with the Eagles.
