The Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowl titles and are going for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl title this season. But it sounds like star quarterback Patrick Mahomes understands that the team will be facing an insane amount of pressure this season as every team will be targeting them.
During a recent press conference, Patrick Mahomes acknowledged the pressure that the team will be facing this season as the two-time defending champions, and it sounds like he and the team are prepared for what they’re going to face.
“You have to come in knowing that we’re going to get everybody’s best shot,” Mahomes said according to ESPN. “We know that, but at the same time, I think we were a young team last year and we kind of grew up as the season went on, and I think this year you have to learn from those mistakes you made last year.
“It is a brand-new season. I’ve dealt with it a couple times now, and we know it’s going to be, every week, it’s going to be a big week. We start off with some great opponents early in the season.”
We’ll have to see how the team handles this pressure this season.
