The Jacksonville Jaguars surprised a lot of people on Thursday night when they selected Blake Bortles as the first quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft at No.3 overall. Many thought Johnny Manziel – who eventually went at 22 after the Browns traded up to pick him – would go first, not the quarterback from UCF.
Bortles’ watch party at an Oviedo bar was predictably pleased at the way things turned out, especially since their guy would be staying in Florida to begin his NFL career. Nobody at that bar (or anywhere else, probably) was more pumped than this hefty dude in a Bortles jersey, who jumps into frame with the most intense draft pick celebration I can remember seeing, like, ever.
In all fairness, though, this was pretty much my exact same reaction when I realized that Bortles’ girlfriend, Lindsey Duke, would be remaining in a warm weather state.
