Over the past several years, Taysom Hill has served as a change-of-pace option at quarterback for the New Orleans Saints and has even started several games at quarterback for the team as a result of injuries to the full-time starter. But it sounds like the team is no longer planning to use him as a quarterback this upcoming season.
This offseason, Taysom Hill has spent time practicing as a running back, fullback, outside receiver, slot receiver, H-back, and tight end for the New Orleans Saints. But he has not been practicing as a quarterback and is not expected to play quarterback for the Saints this upcoming season.
It’s a big change for Hill, but he seems to be embracing it.
“It’s been a lot of fun,” Hill said according to Nola.com. “It’s weird to say after seven years of doing what I’ve been doing that I’m being asked to do things I’ve never done before. That is exciting to me, and it’s challenging and I love to be challenged like that. I’m grateful for those guys creating unique and fun opportunities for me.”
Obviously, Hill could still move back to quarterback if the team decides that’s where he can best help the team, but it sounds like the plan is for him to contribute in other ways.
