The Kansas City Chiefs are hunting their third consecutive Super Bowl championship. Kansas City enjoyed an off week in the Wild Card Round, which was earned by locking down the number one overall seed in the AFC.
In the Divisional Round, Patrick Mahomes and company handled business against the Houston Texans. The win came without the services of one of the offense’s most potent weapons, and unfortunately, Kansas City will have to make do without his services again, per one prominent league insider.
“Chiefs coach Andy Reid tells reporters that WR Mecole Hardman, who was attempting to return off IR after a knee injury, will remain there and won’t play again this season,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news that Hardman was lost for the remainder of the playoffs on social media.
“From making the game winning catch in the Super Bowl to not even being on the active roster at this point. The emergence of Nikko Remigio as KR/PR has kind of left Hardman as the odd man out. He was back practicing last week, feels almost like a healthy scratch here,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Love the kid, but he’s always injured. Hollywood is gonna light it up! Go Chiefs!” added someone else.
“Tough for Mecole. Dude went through a lot over the past 2 seasons,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Chiefs can continue to cruise without Hardman.
