Less than a month ago, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. caught the game-winning pass in overtime to lift the Chiefs to victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. But now, his future with the team is quite uncertain as they look to win their third consecutive title.
Mecole Hardman Jr. is set to become a free agent this offseason, but he does not know yet whether or not he will be back with the team, saying “we’ll see,” when asked about his future.
“Right now you’re just hearing talk and seeing what’s going on, people’s ideas,” Hardman said in an interview with NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano. “And you’ll probably get a better idea as the week goes on. But whenever free agency starts, you’ll know. But we’ll see if they want me back. If not, might be somewhere else. So, we’ll see.”

Hardman joined the Kansas City Chiefs midway through the 2023 season. Hardman began the season with the New York Jets, but the team traded him back to Kansas City – where he began his career – after he was seldom utilized in the team’s offense.
So wherever he ends up, it won’t be back with the Jets.
“No,” Hardman said with a laugh, “I won’t go back to the Jets.”
