It has not been a great start to training camp for reigning MVP Lamar Jackson as he was “sent home” from Baltimore Ravens practice with an illness last week. But it sounds like he is feeling better now.
Lamar Jackson officially returned to practice on Saturday after missing four of the team’s first five practices during training camp. During an interview following his return to the practice field, Jackson revealed to reporters that he was dealing with a “bug,” but it has now passed and he feels much better.
“I feel wonderful,” Jackson said according to Pro Football Talk. “Good to be back. Back out with my guys, back with the coaching staff.”
Jackson is obviously the most vital player on the team’s roster – he is the reigning league MVP, after all – and the Ravens obviously want him around as they prepare for the upcoming season. However, Jackson claimed that he was still “locked in” and that his “mind was still in it” even though he was not on the field with the team during practice.
We’ll have to see how Jackson follows up the dominant season he had last year and whether or not he can finally lead the team to the Super Bowl.
