When the Arizona Cardinals selected Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the team undoubtedly hoped that he would lead them to postseason success as they competed for championships. That hasn’t exactly happened, but Murray still wants to get there.
Since joining the Arizona Cardinals, Kyler Murray has appeared in just one playoff game, which was a loss in a pretty poor performance from the quarterback. But during a recent press conference, he made it very clear that he’s eager to win.
“I’m not used to losing,” Murray said according to David Brandt of the Associated Press. “I know it sounds cliche, been five years going on six, but haven’t won yet. The sense of urgency is definitely there. You never know when the game is going to be taken away from you. You never know how long you’ll be playing.
“My goal is to be the best.”
Murray has obvious talent and he’s proven it already, earning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors back in 2019 and making two Pro Bowls. Now that he’s healthy, we’ll have to see whether or not he can lead the team to the success he clearly desires.
