The Kansas City Chiefs officially got their new Super Bowl rings on Thursday night in celebration of their Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers back in February. But while the ring certainly looks nice, unfortunately, it seems that it also includes a pretty blatant typo in the engraving.
The team unveiled photographs of the Super Bowl rings this week, but as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, there was a pretty clear typo on the rings.
“An inner graphic showing the team’s run to the Super Bowl includes the opponents and their seeds. The purpose apparently was to point out that the Chiefs took down both No. 1 seeds en route to winning the championship. If so, the Chiefs undersold their first-round win,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk.
“The ring lists the Dolphins as the No. 7 seed. They were not. They were the No. 6 seed. The Steelers were the seventh seed, and they faced the second-seeded Bills in Buffalo in the opening round of the playoffs.”
Obviously, this mistake led to a lot of reactions on social media.

That should be pretty easy to verify. "Ok, everybody open the top of your ring and look….."

It’s definitely a small mistake, but it’s not great for that mistake to happen on something as important as a Super Bowl ring.
