Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney caused a lot of problems for the team last year dropping multiple passes that resulted in interceptions and costing the team a likely game-winning touchdown after he lined up offsides. He was not a key part of the team’s lineup down the stretch, leading some to believe the team was set to part ways with him, but it doesn’t sound like that’s going to happen.
The Chiefs do not seem set to immediately part ways with Kardarius Toney. The team did not cut Kadarius Toney when the offseason began, he was recently seen working out with Patrick Mahomes during the offseason, and Andy Reid recently had some high praise for him, suggesting that he was one of the most talented players on the team.
“Kadarius is arguably one of the most talented guys we have on the team,” Reid said according to Pro Football Talk. “It’s just a matter of being healthy and being able to stay on the field and you always hear about the reliability, accountability, all those things that go into it. And so I’m expecting him to come back ripping and ready to go. It’s great that he’s down there working with Pat and putting the work in. So that’s a position. Listen, we like Kadarius. It’s just a matter of having him on the field.”
We’ll have to see what the future holds for Toney, but it seems like the Chiefs have decided to keep him around.
