It sounds like the Kansas City Chiefs will be without one of their top players for quite some time.
According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Kansas City Chiefs star running back Isiah Pacheco will miss “real time” after suffering a fractured fibula during Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“Chiefs star RB Isiah Pacheco, who left the stadium in a walking boot and crutches, fractured his fibula based on initial tests, sources say. More information coming to determine severity and associated damage, but Pacheco is set to miss real time,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Pacheco was arguably the team’s most important offensive weapon in Sunday’s win with 24 touches and 111 total yards between rushes and catches.
Needless to say, this injury absolutely horrible news for the Chiefs given his importance to the offense, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.
“Well that’s not good,” prominent sports betting analyst Greg Peterson wrote on social media.
“First couple weeks of every season is just brutal” one fan said in a social media post.
“congratulations to your afc champion buffalo bills” another fan said.
“No one suffers as much as Chiefs fans” another fan said.
It’s not clear when Pacheco will be able to return, but it’s likely he’ll be placed on the team’s injured reserve list.
