With Jim Harbaugh taking over as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers this season and bringing in new offensive coordinator Greg Roman, star quarterback Justin Herbert has a whole new system to learn this offseason. But according to one teammate, it sounds like he’s doing a very good job.
New Los Angeles Chargers center Bradley Bozeman spent three seasons in the past in Roman’s offense, and he did not hold back his praise for the way that Justin Herbert has learned the new system in such a short time.
“He acts like he’s been in the system for 10 years,” Bozeman said according to the Los Angeles Chargers team website. “He dives so deep into the system and knew it so well before anyone else could even grasp it. It’s been impressive to see him put people in the right positions and just elevate people around him.”
Obviously, Herbert has proven himself as one of the most dominant passers in the league ever since he joined the league, but he hasn’t always had coaching stability. We’ll have to see how he performs this season and in the coming years with Harbaugh now leading the way in Los Angeles.
