On Wednesday morning, Buffalo Bills superstar quarterback Josh Allen lost his top target as the Bills decided to trade star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. But while it’s obviously not ideal for Allen to lose his top receiver, it actually provides him with a pretty big opportunity.
As NFL analyst Robert Griffin III points out, the team’s decision to part ways with Stefon Diggs actually gives Josh Allen the chance to prove that he can be successful without Stefon Diggs, much like Patrick Mahomes did after the Kansas City Chiefs parted ways with superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
“Josh Allen now gets the chance to prove he doesn’t need Stefon Diggs anymore just like Patrick Mahomes proved he didn’t need Tyreek Hill,” Griffin said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Adding a little bit of pressure on Allen is the fact that the night before Diggs was ultimately traded to the Texans, he made a post on social media suggesting that Allen would not be as successful without him in the offense.
Now, Allen will have a chance to prove him wrong immediately. We’ll have to see if he can do it.
