The NFL’s shitty week just got shittier. It is now being reported that Jonathan Dwyer, running back for the Arizona Cardinals, has been arrested for domestic violence.
Tyler Baldwin of 3TVSports reports that Dwyer had been arrested by the Phoenix Police Department.

Dwyer’s reported arrest is just the latest incident in an NFL season which has had more than its fair share. Ray Rice, Ray McDonald and Greg Hardy all have running domestic abuse scandals which are still playing out while Adrian Peterson has been in the news for child abuse since last week.
Details on Dwyer’s arrest are scant for now but given the nature of the arrest and its salience with the NFL’s current state, expect details to start coming out sooner rather than later.
Edit: KTAR News is reporting that Dwyer was questioned by police but that it’s not clear whether he’s been charged.
Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was questioned in a domestic violence investigation at Phoenix Police headquarters Wednesday afternoon, sources said.
The circumstances around the case are unknown, though it is possible he can be charged.
Dwyer was in the locker room Wednesday during media availability. He was pulled from practice to answer police questions.
Edit 2: Arrest has been confirmed. The Cardinals have deactivated Dwyer as well.
Update: Phoenix police confirmed Dwyer’s arrest on suspicion of aggravated assault, with no mention of a second charge.
