The Baltimore Ravens added a big offensive weapon this offseason when the team signed veteran superstar running back Derrick Henry to a free-agent deal to pair with reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson in the backfield. And it sounds like Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is excited to have him on the team – especially after playing against him for years.
During an interview at the NFL league meetings on Monday, John Harbaugh offered his first comments about Derrick Henry since he joined the team, making it clear that he’s excited to have him on the team instead of facing off against him now.
“Well, it’s a big buzz, big guy and a big player,” Harbaugh said according to NFL.com. “He has a great personality and loves football. We played against him all those years. When you play against a guy, you earn respect for a guy, and we’ve had our hands full trying to stop him. So, it kind of speaks to us. How we want to play and approach the game, so I’m fired up to have him.”
Henry has established himself as one of the most dominant running backs in the league in recent years. And even though he’s getting into the final stages of his career, he still has a lot left in the tank. We’ll have to see how he performs for the Ravens.
