Former Ohio State Buckeyes superstar Joey Bosa and former Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh were obviously on opposite ends of one of the fiercest rivalries in all of sports in college football. But with Harbaugh becoming the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, they’ll now be on the same side.
This week, Joey Bosa opened up about what it’s been like getting to know Jim Harbaugh as his new coach, and it sounds like he is excited about playing for him.
“We sat down and probably talked for 30 minutes, an hour a couple of weeks ago,” Bosa told The New York Post. “Great first impressions. … I have a lot of confidence in him and the staff that he’s bringing around him.
“I think he seems like a really genuine guy, which you don’t find that a lot in coaches all the time. He’s interesting. He loves football more than anything. I think all he wants to do is win. The way he talked about his feelings toward this job and toward the future was pretty exciting.”
Bosa actually helped hand Harbaugh his first loss to Ohio State during his Michigan career back in 2015 as he forced a fumble and intercepted a pass that he nearly returned for a touchdown the other direction. Harbaugh will undoubtedly hope he now makes some of those game-breaking plays for his team instead of against his team.
