This year, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year Award after he joined the Cleveland Browns following an injury to starting quarterback Deshaun Watson and was able to lead the team to a playoff berth. And it sounds like he will be back in the league for another season as long as he can find a home.
During an interview on Thursday night at the NFL Honors awards show in Las Vegas, Joe Flacco announced that he has decided to return for at least one more season of NFL Football.
“I want there to be more, so we’ll see,” Flacco said to NFL Media on the red carpet according to Pro Football Talk.
Flacco was signed by the Browns late in the season after Watson underwent season-ending surgery. During his time with the Browns, he went 4-1 as a starter, leading the team to the postseason, while throwing for 1,616 yards for an average of more than 300 yards per game.
“It’s definitely been surreal,” Flacco said. “Listen, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to get back on the field, and what an awesome place to go in the city of Cleveland.”
Flacco is set to become a free agent in March. It will be interesting to see if he can find a new home before next season.
