The New Orleans Saints are in search of a new head coach. While they seem to have targeted Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady as one of their top targets, it sounds like he is not interested in taking the job.
The Saints interviewed Joe Brady earlier this month for the vacant head coaching position. The interview presumably went well, and the team wanted to bring Brady back for a second interview. But it sounds like Brady is not interested in that.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Joe Brady is refusing to work for the New Orleans Saints as he has declined his second interview and will remain with Buffalo.
“Staying home: Bills OC Joe Brady, the architect of the Buffalo offense, has elected to remain with the Bills and pull out of the Saints HC search, per me and [Tom Pelissero],” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
“New Orleans had wanted to interview Brady a second time, along with Kellen Moore. Brady sticks in BUF,” Rapoport continued.
Brady joined the NFL ranks in 2020 after helping lead Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers to the College Football Playoff national championship following the 2019 season.
While he struggled a bit during his first stint as an NFL coordinator with the Carolina Panthers, he has since thrived with the Buffalo Bills and has emerged as a top head coaching candidate.
While he had the opportunity to pursue a head coaching job this offseason, it sounds like he is planning to be back with the Bills for another season next year.
