After leading the Michigan Wolverines to a College Football Playoff National Title, head coach Jim Harbaugh decided to make the move to the NFL, becoming the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. And while he admits it was a tough decision, there was ultimately one thing that swayed him – the chance to potentially win a Super Bowl.

Jim Harbaugh was in attendance for Sunday afternoon’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs in support of his brother John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Ravens. And before the game, he joined the CBS broadcast to discuss his move from Michigan to the Chargers.

“It was tough. I was torn,” Harbaugh said. “I love Michigan, but I love the NFL too. There’s no Lombardi Trophy in college football. And I’ve [only] got so many sands left in the hourglass and I want to take a crack at that. And there’s nowhere better to do that than with the Los Angeles Chargers.”

Harbaugh went on to praise Chargers team owners Dean and Susie Spanos as well as star quarterback Justin Herbert, whom he says he has met with already.

“I was a little star-struck to meet Justin,” Harbaugh said.

We’ll have to see how Harbaugh’s first season with the team goes next season.
