The winter cleaning is in full swing for the New York Jets after another disappointing season, and this time the offensive coordinator got the boot. This is just days after the Jets fired their quarterbacks coach, Matt Cavanaugh and just a week after canning general manager Mike Tannenbaum.
According to ESPN:
The New York Jets have fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, who was informed of his dismissal Monday night, league and team sources said Tuesday morning.
The move was made after a meeting between Jets owner Woody Johnson and coach Rex Ryan.
It seems clear that the Jets are standing by their head coach, Rex Ryan, but the question remains to be seen if that is smart or not.
