The Philadelphia Eagles have some intriguing questions at quarterback. Will Sam Bradford be healthy? Can Mark Sanchez ever be more than “Him, really?” Tim Tebow? Seriously, Tim Tebow?
As it turns out, even the Eagles’ rivals seem to be a bit perplexed by the quarterback situation in Philly. Giants punter Steve Weatherford was on WFAN radio last week and he gave a pretty even-handed analysis of the Eagles depth chart at the QB position.
While he “praised” Sanchez for his consistency (likening him to a “nice Cadillac sedan”) and noted his concerns over Sam Bradford (“Bradford can go from zero to 60 in three seconds, but you don’t know if he’s gonna start up some days”), Weatherford saved his most blunt analysis for Tim Tebow:
“I’m the biggest Tim Tebow fan in the world. I mean, who wouldn’t want their daughter to date a guy like that? I’ll tell you what, I don’t want him taking snaps for my team.”
On its face, there’s nothing here that would be out of place on any sports radio show in the country. However, the quotes did not sit well with Eagles center Jason Kelce, who took to Twitter to put Weatherford on blast for giving a pretty decent assessment of the Eagles’ passers.
Of course a player who is literally not allowed to be touched is talking shit… Is interviewing punters a thing now? @Weatherford5

Weatherford responded to Kelce’s comment, insisting that he was complimentary of the Eagles quarterbacks.
Did u even read the my quotes? Or did u generate ur opinion based upon the headline? (Continued)

Even during the offseason, the NFC East rivalries continue to be some of the best in the NFL.
