Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is one of the NFL’s bright young stars.
Hurts is such a star in fact, that he was recently able to be a part of a legendary golf foursome that included his teammate, running back Saquon Barkley, and former President of the United States, Barack Obama. Unfortunately, hanging out is about all Hurts was allowed to do, per one NBCS reporter.
“Jalen Hurts says he did not actually golf yesterday with former President Obama, Saquon Barkley, and Jeff Lurie. Jalen hung with the group the whole time. He says it’s in his contract that he can’t golf. Saquon says it was one of the coolest experiences of his life,” reported John Clark.
Fans reacted to the news that all Hurts could do was watch on social media.
“Thats actually hilarious that he has a contract stipulation that says he can’t golf,” one fan said on Twitter.
“I wish I’d had a clause in my contracts for the past 50 years prohibiting me from playing golf. I would have saved $492,000 in lost bets, greens fees, country club dues, beers drank and hot dogs eaten, golf gloves, time wasted and mostly lost balls.” one fan added.
“Yall can thank Andrew Luck for things QBs can no longer do while under contract,” one fan added.
“Love Jalen but…. I can think of a lot more “cool” experiences than hanging out with Obama…. He divided this country so Much. Did nothing for black Americans like he was promised. Sad but true,” one fan added.
“I get not letting guys play basketball or ski when they’re under contract. But golf?” one fan added.
“When I was in Pop Warner we weren’t allowed to skateboard. Same thing pretty much. I’m basically Jalen Hurts when you get right down to it… Yup,” one delusional fan said.
“It makes me sad how many people don’t realize the amount of physical string golfing can have on your shoulders especially the front shoulder where all of your power is coming from outside of the lower body. Completely agree with them not allowing him to golf,” one fan said.
If Hurts can’t do things like golf with the president because of contract obligations, perhaps it’s time for a new agent.
