The Jacksonville Jaguars relieved head coach Doug Pederson of his duties following the end of a massively disappointing 2024 season. Jacksonville finished the season 4-13 and star quarterback Trevor Lawrence struggled throughout the campaign.
Now, the Jags are on the hunt for the right guy to turn things back around, and one name is emerging as a leading candidate.
“Former (Jets) head coach Robert Saleh has a second interview with the (Jaguars) scheduled for Friday, per sources. Saleh acquitted himself well in first interview and gets a longer look,” reported ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“You generally get 2 shots as a HC in the NFL. Saleh blowing his 2nd shot on the Jaguars & Trent Baalke seems like a bad bet to me,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“He would definitely fit the Jaguars and Shad Kahn.. perpetual losers, having to hire a retread that was already fired this year, because no legit top coaching prospect has any interest in working with Baalke and Kahn,” one fan added.
“His Jet tenure was so bad you would think Saleh would have to wait a long time if ever to get a chance at being a head coach in the NFL again. Honestly I don’t understand it. If the Jags hire him I predict he won’t last more than 2 years,” added another fan.
“If Saleh is considering to go to another dysfunctional franchise, then I’m sorry for him,” a fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Saleh gets another head coaching opportunity so soon after being fired in New York.
