At some point, J.J. Watt will supplant Chuck Norris in Chuck Norris jokes and no one will be able to tell the difference.
The Houston Texans defensive end recently completed an MVP-caliber season and he rewarded himself with a log cabin “in the middle of nowhere” in Wisconsin. Watt apparently plans to use the cabin to train, free of distractions like the MLB Network.
Watt was so cut off after the 2014 season that he didn’t have MLB Network, which left him refreshing the internet browser on his phone while Craig Biggio learned whether he’d be the first longtime Astros player to gain entry into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
As for the cabin itself, Watt describes it as a place of minimal comforts, where a freakishly athletic man can work out in a gym that he plans to build himself.
“It’s really minimalistic,” Watt said. “The only thing I have to focus on is training and that’s the way I like it. There’s no frills, there’s nothing to distract you up here.”
His description of his new offseason home: “It’s just an empty space and a log cabin and snow.”
…
Watt plans to build a gym in his cabin’s barn.
Is J.J. Watt even a real person? Because with each passing day and new report, it’s seeming more and more like he’s some sort of ideal rather than something made of flesh and bone.
