Earlier this month, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker gave a controversial commencement address that criticized transgender people, mocked LGBTQ Pride Month, and indicated that the most important role for women was as “homemakers.” During that speech, Butker urged men to “be unapologetic in your masculinity.” But a recent turn of events is causing Butker to be mocked for his comments.
During his controversial speech, Harrison Butker took the time to suggest that men should “fight against the culture emasculation of men.”
“Be unapologetic in your masculinity. Fight against the cultural emasculation of men. Do hard things. Never settle for what is easy,” Butker said in a speech.
But in a hilarious turn of events, it sounds like the Kansas City Chiefs are considering removing Butker from the kickoff team to prevent him from having to tackle anybody on the field.
The #Chiefs are serious about having Justin Reid or Louis Rees-Zammit kick off (they were working there today). Special teams coordinator Dave Toub said that as they watched the XFL, they noticed the kicker involved in 25-40% of tackles. They don't want that for Harrison Butker.

Needless to say, it did not take long for Butker to be mocked for this move, considering he just spoke out about his “masculinity” a few weeks ago.
Butker getting stripped of the only manly part of his job because they are afraid he will get hurt is perfecto https://t.co/FdUiV3nisA

Sounds like the kitchen might be a safer place for him https://t.co/UNESlG7AQg

It’s so funny that Hairy Buttkisser did that whole shtick about masculinity and then his own org is like. Actually he’s too much of a wimpy twig to complete part of his job with the new rules so we found a manly liberal or European to do it lmao https://t.co/biUUcFnQgj

Oh come on such a man’s man should be able to make a tackle here and there https://t.co/IO2TdUFIv1

Feels like a man's man like Butker would want to be involved in more tackles, no? https://t.co/f4yib68RzO

It’s certainly an ironic and hilarious turn of events for Butker.
