Brock Purdy is heading into his third season with the San Francisco 49ers, and based on some recent comments from star tight end Georgie Kittle, it sounds like there is little doubt that he is the leader of this team.
During a recent interview with Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area from Tight End U last week, San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle had some high praise for Brock Purdy.
“He looks like the guy, which is really nice,” Kittle said of Purdy according to 49ers Webzone. “He’s in the building every day. He’s the same guy every single day. He’s consistent. He’s incredibly competitive. It’s fun seeing him yell at guys when they don’t hit the route depth, if they have the wrong landmark. He’s taking control of the offense and making it his.”
Kittle noted that while head coach Kyle Shanahan is still the architect of the offense, he has seen Purdy take more ownership of the offense this season.
“It’s Kyle, and Kyle’s calling the plays, but Brock’s getting guys to do what he wants them to do, which is really fun to see,” Kittle said.
We’ll have to see how Purdy performs this upcoming season as he has become even more comfortable in the offense.
