The Jacksonville Jaguars are slated to take on the New England Patriots in October, and some recent comments from Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson might have added a little fuel to that game.
During a recent press conference, Doug Pederson was asked a question about former New England Patriots starting quarterback Mac Jones, who was traded to the Jaguars this offseason. While praising Jones, Pederson also seemed to call out the Patriots as he chided Jones a bit, saying that he will still sometimes “revert back to his Patriots ways.”
“Mac has played extremely well in the last couple of weeks and has really bought into what we do,” Pederson said according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. “He’ll still revert back to his Patriots ways every now and then, and we have to remind him he’s in Jacksonville. But he’s done a good job managing and running the offense, getting everybody involved. He sees the field well, throws a good ball, so he’s done a good job.”
It’s not clear exactly what Pederson means by “Patriots ways,” but the implication is that there were things Jones picked up in New England that are not desirable traits for the Jaguars moving forward.
Clearly, Pederson thinks their way of doing things is better than the way the Patriots did things.
