Cleveland Browns star quarterback Deshaun Watson has failed to live up to his massive contract thus far throughout his tenure with the organization. But on Thursday, he made it clear that he plans to be good to go for the start of the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Injuries have been the biggest issue on the field for Watson, playing in just six games this past season due to an injured right throwing shoulder.
Watson has recently begun to throw again, which is obviously a great sign for his prospects heading into his third season in Cleveland. And in a discussion with reporters, Watson claimed that he is set to be “ready” for Week 1 of the upcoming regular season.
“The shoulder feels great,” said Watson in a video shared by Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland. “I’ll be ready by Week 1 for sure.”

The Browns notably made the postseason without Watson for much of the year this past season. So it is clear that this very talented roster could certainly be aided by a fully healthy Deshaun Watson.
In the six games that Watson did play this past season, the Browns had a record of 5-1. Clearly, this team has the potential to be great with him at the helm.
Watson has shown in that past that he can really shine in the right situation, earning three Pro Bowl honors during his time with the Houston Texans.
The real question here is can Deshaun Watson recapture some of that magic from the past? Or have the injuries deteriorated some of his skills?
Only time will tell, but it is great news for Browns fans that Watson is seemingly feeling healthy again.
