Heading into the free agency period, the Dallas Cowboys seemed like a perfect fit for star running back Derrick Henry. After all, Henry was one of the top running backs on the free agent market and Dallas was in need of a running back. Plus, Henry lives in Dallas during the offseason. But apparently, the Cowboys weren’t interested.
During a recent interview on Mad Dog Sports Radio, Derrick Henry said that he would have been interested in signing with the Cowboys, but he called them out a bit, revealing that they never even reached out to him during the offseason.
“The Cowboys never called at all,” Henry said during the radio appearance according to Dallas Cowboys beat writer Jon Machota of The Athletic. “That’s where I stay in the offseason. I’m kind of on the back end of my career and that’s a great organization. It would’ve been a great opportunity, but I’m thankful that I ended up here in Baltimore.”

As Henry indicated, he ultimately chose to sign with the Baltimore Ravens instead, joining a new team for the first time after playing the first eight seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans.
He’s obviously happy to be a Raven, but it sounds like he would have liked the chance to play for the Cowboys.
