Dallas Cowboys team owner and general manager Jerry Jones has made it very clear that he thinks Dak Prescott will be the team’s starting quarterback for the foreseeable future, which means the team will need to sign him to a contract extension. And it sounds like Prescott is optimistic about that, too.
During a recent media appearance at the Children’s Cancer Fund, Dak Prescott said that he is “definitely confident” that he and the team can reach a contract extension.
“It helps with the team and it helps with the numbers,” Prescott said according to Nick Harris of the Dallas Cowboys team website. “Everything is great. It’ll happen.”

The team has not exactly met its goals since Prescott took over as the team’s starting quarterback during the 2016 NFL season. The Cowboys have failed to make a deep run through the playoffs, much less make a Super Bowl. But it sounds like the team is committed to Prescott for the foreseeable future and still believes that he can lead the team to the Super Bowl.
We’ll have to see whether or not the team can get that contract extension done this offseason and how Prescott performs for the team this season.
