On Monday afternoon, the NFL’s legal tampering period opened, allowing teams across the league to begin discussing deals with free-agent players even though they can’t sign their official contracts until Wednesday. And the Chicago Bears wasted no time in making a pretty significant addition to the team.
Just a few minutes after the legal tampering period opened, the Chicago Bears and veteran star running back D’Andre Swift agreed to a three-year deal to bring him to Chicago, according to league insider Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
“The #Bears have agreed to terms with RB D’Andre Swift on a three-year, $24 million deal, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
After a career year with the #Eagles, Swift heads to Chicago to be a big piece in Shane Waldron’s offense,” Garafolo said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Swift had by far the most productive season of his entire career last year with the Philadelphia Eagles, topping 1,000 rushing yards for the first time.
He finished the 2023 season with 229 carries for 1,049 yards and five touchdowns.
We’ll have to see whether or not he can bring that same production to Chicago this upcoming season.
