It’s hard to root against the Detroit Lions this season. After years of not being able to get over the hump, the Lions have won the NFC North in back-to-back years and clinched the number one overall seed in the NFC for the first time in franchise history.
What’s most impressive about the Lions’ season is the staggering number of injuries they’ve withstood this year. Despite losing a key piece on the defensive side of the ball seemingly every week, the Lions still managed to finish their campaign at 15-2.
Detroit got one of those pieces back in the season finale against the Minnesota Vikings, and while many thought he might be hampered in his first game back, Alex Anzalone was anything but.
“After undergoing surgery for a broken forearm seven weeks ago, Lions LB Alex Anzalone played 64-of-65 snaps last night, registered a team-high 7 tackles, one QB hit, one pass defense, and was awarded one of three game balls for his efforts,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter after the game.

Fans reacted to the impossible feet of dominating after returning from a broken arm on social media.
“He deserves it and more. A lot of casuals talked crap a few years ago thinking he was always out of place while he was covering for everyone sideline to sideline every play. He’s a great LB,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“So tired of reading about the amazing careers of guys the Saints let walk out the door for nothing. Zach Baun. Anzelone. Trey Hendrickson. Love that these guys are excelling. I root for them. But just further confirmation the Saints need a total rebuild. Including Mickey Loomis,” one fan added.
“Nah he a DAWG fr they missed him a lot they looked completely different with him in there,” another person wrote.
“I remember when some lions fans did not want him anymore,” added a fan.
It’ll be interesting to see if Anzalone can keep up his hot play.
