Buzz Williams is apparently a man of the people. Most people are still recovering from the surprising decision to leave Marquette for Virginia Tech last offseason, with many forgetting he’s now in Blacksburg. It has been a brutal first year with the Hokies but at least Williams appears to be enjoying himself.
During his team’s ACC Tournament loss to Miami (FL) on Wednesday, the coach finished addressing his players during a second half timeout and wanted to share some wisdom and encouragement elsewhere. During a close game, 35-34 at the time, Williams noticed a fan was attempting to win $500 from a free throw contest and apparently wanted to lend a hand:
