Nine-year old Jaden Newman made national headlines this past year when she played for her local high school’s varsity basketball program as a fourth grader and still managed to roast the competition – averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 assists this past season.
Her impressive skill set was enough to attract eyes from at least one major college program already. The University of Miami have reportedly begun to recruit Newman to play for Hurricanes’ women’s team once she graduates high school. According to USA Today, Newman has received a full recruiting packet from The U in and has already completed her first recruiting trip to campus.
