Remember that time Charles Barkley said “black people don’t play beer pong”? No? Well, here’s a refresher. Barkley’s comments came in response to images and video of Michael Jordan playing beer pong at a hotel in Miami last fall, after which Barkley also said that Jordan’s participation “doesn’t make it right”. Although, you’d think a seasoned drinker — and basketball god — like the Chuckster would be some sort of pong All-Star (even if there’s no beer pong in the hood). Guess not.
Wednesday night, Barkley found himself on set at CNN Headline News, with a beer pong table primed and ready to go. Not primed and ready was Charles, who promptly lost. And, in doing so, killed my totally unscientific theory that basketball players are automatically good at beer pong.
