Warriors point guard Stephen Curry’s phenomenal 2014-15 season is finally being reflected in jersey sales, where the reigning league MVP led the NBA in terms of jerseys sold between April and June.
Fittingly, the guy Curry usurped for the top spot was LeBron James, who had enjoyed the most popular jersey ranking six consecutive times before the most recent numbers came out.
The bigger surprise on the list of jersey sales may be Curry’s Splash Brother Klay Thompson, who managed to have the fifth best selling jersey of the quarter. Klay beat out Kobe Bryant by one spot, which is amusing when one considers that Kobe didn’t even play during the time period that these jersey sales were tracked (Let’s just say that jersey sales are an imperfect measure of merit).
Here’s how the top ten shook out:
1. Stephen Curry
2. LeBron James
3. Derrick Rose
4. Kyrie Irving
5. Klay Thompson
6. Kobe Bryant
7. James Harden
8. Blake Griffin
9. Tim Duncan
10. Chris Paul
