Lost in the “What’s wrong with Cleveland?”, “What’s wrong with Derrick Rose?”, “Omg, OKC is screwed”, “Wow, the Lakers suck”, and tanking talk early this season, the Golden State Warriors are quietly off to their best start in franchise history. Stephen Curry is leading the way for the Warriors — now 11-2 — by putting up MVP-caliber numbers: 22.6 points, 7.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. He’s also hitting three-pointers at a 52.6% clip, which is about five points higher than overall field goal percentage.
Tuesday night, Steph submitted one of his signature “video game” performances, leaving a pile of Miami Heat players’ bodies around the perimeter in his wake. He nailed 8 of 11 threes, including ridiculous pull-ups and in-your-face daggers that helped the Warriors recover from a 16-point first half deficit and win 114-97.
By the way, this where I apologize for, like, the billionth time for ever doubting Steph as an impact player in the NBA.
