The Indiana Pacers’ season was forever altered on August 1st of last year, when Paul George suffered one of the worst injuries that one will ever witness on a basketball court.
Since then, Paul has been hard at work rehabbing his leg and the Pacers have even begun releasing video footage of him dunking to show how much progress the Pacers star forward has made in his recovery.
Bleacher Report was able to secure some time with George and, although he wasn’t quite ready to watch his leg injury, he was able to recall the injury itself, the pain he felt and the mentality that aided George in persevering through one of the toughest times of his professional career. It’s a personal and emotional look into the life of a man who could do anything on the basketball court until it all changed in a blink of an eye.
“I felt I was immortal. I felt I was invincible. I’ve made so many plays where guys go down and I walked up clean from it. So I did feel that nothing bad could ever happen to me while I was on the court.”
