NBA referee Billy Kennedy was caught telling San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni that he was “stalling” the game because television thought the Lakers had called a 20-second timeout when in fact they had called a full timeout. The best part was that his mic was hot and the ESPN cameras were showing the conversation in real time. As a fan of the game, I realize there will always be human error, and I quite enjoyed this exchange as it showed a little compassion as well from both coaches.
