You’ve already seen the party pictures, and now we know the food and beverage stats associated with Miami’s championship celebration Thursday night. TMZ reports the team started off with 100 bottles of Moët Ice Impérial — the official champagne of the Miami Heat — in the locker room. They followed that up with 100 bottles of Dom Pérignon at STORY nightclub.
In addition to the random boxes of pizza, Prime 112 sent over an array of food, including Kobe sliders, chicken and waffles, shrimp cocktails, and fried shrimp.
Okay, let’s do some simple math on the cost of the bubbly. After a quick search, it appears Moët Ice Impérial runs about $55/bottle ($5500, total). Not bad. The Dom at STORY is where things get interesting. First, it was probably a mix of magnums and standard bottles (based on the above picture). Nightclub menus aren’t readily available online, but Dom tends to hover around the $900-$1000 range per bottle (magnums are usually double that). If it’s all standard-sized bottles, then the tab would be anywhere from $90,000 to $100,000. Throw magnums into the equation, and who knows final tally.
Now, if you think that’s a lot, after Dallas won in 2011, they celebrated with an enormous $90,000 bottle of Ace of Spades on top of 100 bottles of Rose (brand unknown, but could range from $1,000 to more than $2,000/bottle). And that’s before tax and the automatic 20% tip you hand the lovely ladies (or, dudes, in the case of giant champagne bottles) who bring it out to you. Yes, it is expensive to be a champion. And awesome.
