Just when you thought the Lakers had turned the corner — thanks in all parts to the return of Swaggy P, of course — and appeared to remove themselves from the discussion for worst team in the NBA, they ran into the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. And by “ran into”, I mean they got their doors blown off. The Mavs racked up 111 points by the end of the third quarter, eventually settling on 140 points because running clocks don’t exist in this era of shameless tanking. While the Lakers may not actually be tanking, they haven’t been very proactive about avoiding it, so we’ll go ahead and lump them into that group.
We don’t really need to get into all the gory details of the blowout, so we’ll leave you with two highlights…err, lowlights…that summed up the Lakers’ performance. One is the video above, which occurred when the Lakers were still in the game (so to speak). The other is Kobe Bryant giving zero fucks and launching an air ball three from outer space.
