Thanks to a handful of regular players sitting out Thursday’s game against the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs rookie Kyle Anderson got a little more burn than he normally would have against a quality opponent. The 21-year-old UCLA product checked into the game midway through the first quarter and was immediately greeted with a “Welcome to the NBA” moment (no doubt one of many) courtesy of referee Courtney Kirkland. A small piece of Anderson’s jersey was hanging out his backside and Kirkland was having none of it. He whistled Anderson for a delay of game penalty, which basically amounts to a scolding and warning never to do it again.
