This was most of New York’s reaction when Phil Jackson selected Kristaps Porzingis with the No. 4 pick of the 2015 NBA draft.
That is the look of utter disappointment and despair.
But unknown to most Knicks fans, the NBA has been blessed with Kristaps. We just don’t know it yet.
Take this play of the 7-foot-3 big man taking Larry Nance Jr. off the dribble for the leaning, bank shot for example. Kristaps receives the ball at the three-point line, hesitates as if to shoot, takes it strong to the rack, and absorbs the contact for the and-one.
Check it out.
Porzingis is the past, present, and the future. Embrace him.
