During Sunday’s preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors, Kobe Bryant was his usual pathologically competitive self as he hounded Steph Curry as he tried to dribble up the court as if it were the last possession of an NBA Finals game.
Steph Curry, being Steph Curry, slightly faltered past the half court line before giving Kobe a quick push-off and launching a beautiful three-point shot which he nailed because he’s Steph Curry.
Kobe was so impressed with the shot that he gave Steph an ass-slap of appreciation on the way back up the court. While the old Kobe reared its head on the defensive end, it’s nice to see a mellower Kobe show itself every now and then. Whether this sort of playfulness is only reserved for the preseason or whether we can expect more gregarious Kobe in the future remains to be seen.
