It’s been a rough season for the New York Knicks – they’ve spent much of this year as the laughing stock and punchline of the NBA. They did come up with a big win over the Spurs in San Antonio last night, but they didn’t do so without racking up some comically embarrassing defensive lowlights in the process.
As you can see in the GIF above, Andrea Bargnani still continues to have absolutely no idea where the hell he is or what the hell he’s supposed to be doing on defense. Instead, his strategy just involves running around in circles while the other team scores easy buckets down low.
Then, J.R. Smith got completely overwhelmed on a 2-on-1 fastbreak and completely lost control of his own feet, sending him crashing to the court in hilarious fashion. This is a little more excusable considering the great pass from Manu Ginobili, but it’s still hella amusing to watch.
Never change, Knicks.
