The Los Angeles Clippers trailed the Miami Heat 97-89 with 3:20 left to play Thursday night, when Clippers shooting guard J.J. Redick thought he might have a relatively easy fast break layup to help close the gap. That is, until he saw LeBron James was the human being standing between he and said layup. Redick wisely chose to pull up, but, rather than wait for reinforcements, settled for a short jumper that clanged harmlessly off the rim. Ultimately, Redick’s decision didn’t really matter, as he was likely going to end up on a highlight reel either way.
Miami eventually won, 102-97.
