Sometimes, hate motivates. In Dwight Howard’s case a simple text helped him achieve the first 30/30 game since 1982.
Howard revealed after the Hornets 111-105 win over the Brooklyn Nets where scored 30 points and pulled down an insane 32 boards, that a friend texted him during halftime which apparently fired the big man up.

It’s an old-school Dwight game (x 2) and one which further solidifies Howard’s place in the game.
It’s not all good news for Howard, as he picked up his 16th technical of the season against the Nets and will reportedly have to sit during the Hornets next game, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

But, in a sort of lost season for the Hornets, the suspension isn’t a big deal. When Howard retires, this performance will be remembered as the best of his career. Not bad for a 32-year-old center.
